Purchasing and un-boxing a new flat screen LED TV makes you feel like a kid again unwrapping an awesome Christmas present . . .that is, until you try to figure out how to get that TV wall mount installation done on the wall where you really want it.
TV Wall mount installation requires special wiring, possible outlet additions, running cables behind walls and wall mounting construction considerations. Your first step should be to call or message us for help with the technical aspects as we provide free tech consultations, estimates and guarantee our work.
Here are a few things that will affect the cost to install a flat screen TV . . .
TV Size / Dimensions
Most TV’s up to 55″ that can be installed by just one tech typically cost around $99 for labor only.
TV’s 60″ and larger usually require 2 techs, larger mounting brackets and additional installation time starting at $199 for labor only.
Bracket Installation
One of the most critical aspects of a wall mounted TV installation is using the proper bracket. A specialized bracket will ensure that the TV doesn’t damage the wall or fall off the wall ultimately destroying the unit. TV’s do not come with this bracket. This is an additional cost to the actual TV mounting labor and there are a range of bracket types to choose from.
Please note: While we will gladly install a bracket you have already purchased — some of the brackets we have installed for customers that were not purchased from us did not come with the correct size screws for the TV to be mounted and required a call to the manufacturer or a trip to the hardware store, delaying installation. We recommend you purchase your TV mounting bracket from us as we can offer a faster installation and guaranteed results.
For most typical installations, we utilize a $49 professional grade low profile stationary bracket that offers a 5-15 degree tilt or angling of your TV. In cases where you need to see the TV from multiple directions or a custom position we offer a $69 professional grade low profile full motion bracket allowing you to pull the TV away from the wall and move it side-to-side.
The more complicated the bracket, the more costly it will be to purchase one and the labor to install the TV will be.
How Much Will You Need Installed?
The degree of installation will also impact the price. The cost to install a flat screen TV that includes hiding wires in a track molding outside of the wall will be more affordable. But if you want to hide the wires inside the wall, then the cost to install a flat screen TV will increase. This is a good option, however, for maximum concealment and safety from children and pets getting to the wires. In some cases, a new power outlet, wiring and/or surge protector may need to be installed to support your new TV.
TV Accessories
Installing a surround sound system and/or relocating cable/satellite TV boxes, BluRay/DVD players and other A/V equipment at the same time would be smart, but will also increase the cost to install a TV. You will also need to purchase all the necessary A/V and HDMI cables prior to installation or advise us of your intent and purchase them from us. Your sales/install professional will go over cabling options and any accessories you may need.
TV Wall Mount Installation Location
You’ll want to make sure you pick a spot that is visible from as many places as possible and that is at a comfortable height. In some cases, the location of the TV will impact the cost to install a flat screen TV. If it’s difficult to access, then it might be more expensive. This will also affect the degree of difficulty for wiring.
