CITS-ZOSI DVR Security Camera Systems

CITS-ZOSI DVR Security Camera Systems are budget-friendly professional CCTV surveillance security camera systems that can record 1080p HD video and display live video feeds from up to 8 cameras per DVR unit.

These units support live viewing and 24/7, scheduled or motion-based recording of 1, 4, 8 or any number of cameras on any supported TV or monitor via HDMI or VGA connection. When directly attached to a TV or monitor with a mouse, you can right-click, login into the DVR and access the Main Menu to Search for and playback or Export recorded video clips. PC and mobile device apps for remote live viewing, remote playback and some system configuration changes as well as other support articles, manuals and more can be found below under Help and Support.

While most basic use functions are included; some features such as push alerts; e-mail alerts; VCA functions, etc. are not. Advanced features are only available with our Guarding Vision devices.

User Functions Explained

To access the DVR and perform certain functions listed below you will need to access the DVR’s Main Menu.

How to Access CITS-ZOSI DVR’s Main Menu

To access the DVR’s Main Menu, you will need to have a monitor or TV and mouse connected directly to the DVR unit using either a HDMI or VGA compatible cable.

  1. Turn on the monitor (if not on), set the TV input (if required) and connect the mouse (if not plugged).
  2. Use the mouse to right-click anywhere on the screen and select Main Menu as shown here.
  3. If security verification is enabled, you will be required to enter the username/password to login.

Once access is granted you will see the Main Menu:

Adding Users or Changing Admin Passwords

To change admin password via the DVR’s Main Menu, you will need to have a monitor or TV and mouse connected directly to the DVR unit using either a HDMI or VGA compatible cable.

  1. Turn on the monitor (if not on), set the TV input (if required) and connect the mouse (if not plugged).
  2. Use the mouse to right-click anywhere on the screen and select Main Menu as shown here.
  3. If security verification is enabled, you will be required to enter the username/password to login.

Once access is granted you will see the Main Menu. Click on Setup.

The User Management screen displays an overview of the active users and their current permission levels. From this menu add users, delete users, or change your current password.

Add: Adds a users. You can specify their user name, password and user permission level. User permissions include Normal and Advanced users. Advanced users have all permissions enabled by default. Normal users can have their permissions restricted on the Authority tab. It is recommended that there is only one Advanced user on the system.
Delete: Delete a user from the DVR.
Change Password: Change the password of the selected user. First, input the old password before changing to the new password.

Adding a User

User Name: Input the user name for the new user using the virtual keyboard
Password: Input the password used to log in.
Confirm Password: Confirm the password used to log in.
User Type: Select the user permission level.
Binding PC Mac Address: Select whether to limit access for this user to a specific PC’s MAC address.
*If checked the user will only be able to access from a predetermined computer.

Adding a User > Authority

Enable or Disable a user’s permissions on this menu.

Enable access by ensuring a check mark appears in the relevant box. Disable by removing check mark.
*Only an “Advanced“ account is able set permissions for other users.

Video Playback via DVR’s Main Menu

To playback recorded video via the DVR’s Main Menu, you will need to have a monitor or TV and mouse connected directly to the DVR unit using either a HDMI or VGA compatible cable.

  1. Turn on the monitor (if not on), set the TV input (if required) and connect the mouse (if not plugged).
  2. Use the mouse to right-click anywhere on the screen and select Main Menu as shown here.
  3. If security verification is enabled, you will be required to enter the username/password to login.

Note: If you are not already logged in or have been logged out for inactivity you will be presented with the login screen. Login using your system’s username and password.

Once access is granted you will see the Main Menu. Use the left-mouse button to click on Search.

The Search screen will appear as shown below. Start by selecting the day you want to view by using the mouse to left-click on the date located in the calendar on the right-hand side of the screen then click the Search button. Now select the time you wish to start viewing at by using the mouse to left-click on the hour and minute you wish to view under Start Time.

Click the play button to begin playback using the date/time specified.

Once playback begins you should see a screen like the one shown below.

Controls: Use the mouse to left-click on the control buttons shown below to control the playback speed, direction, fast-forward, rewind and play/pause the video.

Tip: Make a note of any date/times of events found if you wish to back them up later.

Use the X button to close and exit playback mode.

Video Backup to USB Drive via DVR’s Main Menu

  1. Turn on the monitor (if not on), set the TV input (if required) and connect the mouse (if not plugged).
  2. Use the mouse to right-click anywhere on the screen and select Main Menu as shown here.
  3. If security verification is enabled, you will be required to enter the username/password to login.

Use the left-mouse button to click on Disk Management and connect your USB stick or drive into either the front USB port or bottom rear USB port on the CITS-DVR unit.

Please note: the bottom USB port on the back of the unit shares the same wire connection as the front USB port therefore; the mouse is typically installed the top USB port to allow the bottom rear or front USB to be used.

The Disk Management screen will appear as shown below. You should now see your USB drive in the Disk Management list (see example ID: 02 listed)

If you do not see your drive click the Refresh button. If it still does not appear ensure it is completely inserted, 64GB or smaller and is formatted to FAT32 using a Windows PC. Try another USB drive and click Refresh to look for the drive.

WARNING: Do not select a drive and click Format on a drive unless you want everything on that drive erased and GONE FOREVER.

Once the drive is shown, use the mouse left-click on the Exit button.

Once back at the Main Menu, use the mouse to left-click on Backup as shown below.

The Backup screen will appear as shown below. Start by selecting the Start Time and End Time you want to view by using the mouse to left-click on the date and time fields located on the right-hand side of the screen. Now select the camera(s)  to backup by using the mouse to left-click on camera #’s located under End Time then left-click on the Search button.

Once it has completed the search you will be shown the list of video clips. Now use the simply select the section by using the mouse to left-click on the check boxes that you want to backup and click on the Backup button as shown below.

The Backup Information screen will appear as shown below. Now use the mouse to left-click on the Start button.

Depending on the amount of video selected it may take a few minutes to complete. You can see the % complete in the progress bar near the bottom of the screen.

When the system displays ’Backup completed.’ as shown below click Ok. You may now remove the drive and view it on a PC or device that supports AVI video playback.

Remote Camera Viewing

To view your cameras remotely over a cellular data or WiFi connection, search for: 365SECU or 365SECU HD in the App or Play Store on your Apple or Android device. Once installed, open the app and Register your account. Once setup, the installer will provide you with the details or assist with adding your device to your account.

FAQ: Can’t connect remotely

The most common reasons for not being able to connect are: unplugged cable, firewall or internet router rules too restrictive or bad cable. To troubleshoot, start by following these steps.

Check Network Setup and Test It

To test the network, first use the mouse and right-click on the screen and select Main Menu as shown here.

Once at the Main Menu, use the mouse to left-click on Setup as shown below.

Once at the Setup Menu, use the mouse to left-click on Network as shown below.

Once at the Network screen, use the mouse to left-click on the Test button as shown below. Check to see if it shows OK as shown below. Make note of the IP address.

Once you have tested the connection, go back to the Main Menu.

Check Network and Cloud Server Status
